In Tajimaru, birthplace of the Kyoho grape, this Fukuoka winery crafted Japan's first Kyoho wine in 1972.
Kyoho Wine was founded in 1972 in Tajimaru, Kurume — the birthplace of the Kyoho grape — where it produced Japan's first Kyoho wine. Fukuoka's oldest winery, it sits amid the forested Mino mountain range and carefully presses local fruit into its wines. Beyond its signature Kyoho reds, the winery also makes wines from blueberries, amaou strawberries, kiwi and other regional fruit.
