Watarise Farm & Winery

Watarise Farm & Winery is run by Keizo Fujita, whose family has farmed in Arike, Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu, since the Edo period. Using a special wine-production zone approved in October 2016, Fujita obtained a brewing license on February 26, 2018, opening Kitakyushu's first winery. The small, family-run operation grows all of its own grapes and handles every step of production in-house, working with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Kerner, Campbell Early and Kyoho.
