Halfway between Koriyama and Lake Inawashiro, this 2015 winery partners with local farmers to draw out the character of Fukushima's grapes, peaches and apples.
Fukushima Ouse Winery was established in 2015 in the Ouse area of Koriyama, working with local farmers on both grape growing and winemaking while also exploring Fukushima's peaches, pears and apples for fruit wine. Its aim is to bring out the best of each ingredient, and it sits in a nature-filled valley roughly midway between Koriyama Station and Lake Inawashiro. Its main line, Vin de Ollage, is made entirely from Koriyama-grown grapes, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Black Queen.
