In the fog-prone Miyoshi basin, this Hiroshima winery turns Pione grapes into wine, its mists sometimes yielding noble-rot fruit.
Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery draws on the fog that regularly settles over the Miyoshi basin, an environment that can also yield noble-rot grapes, in careful winemaking built around Pione, a table grape used here for wine. The winery produces about 260,000 bottles a year and has won numerous awards at competitions in Japan and abroad. A shop, free and paid tastings, a café, and a barbecue garden are on site.
