A 300-year Burgundy winemaking family's first Japanese outpost, planted in Hakodate for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Domaine de Montille, a family winery with roughly 300 years of history in Burgundy, France, established this winery in Hakodate. The project began in 2016, vines went into the ground in 2019, and the winery itself was completed in 2023, focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The two-story building spans some 1,500 square meters, with a restaurant, terrace and tasting space upstairs, above roughly 13 hectares under vine.
