Settling in Rankoshi in 2017, Kamisato Vineyard applies New Zealand-honed techniques to a 3-hectare south-facing slope, farmed herbicide-free with reduced pesticides.
Kamisato Vineyard was established in Rankoshi in 2017, with planting beginning the following year on a south-facing, roughly 3-hectare slope. Its grower draws on viticultural experience gained in New Zealand, farming without herbicides and with reduced pesticide use — insecticide applied only twice a year — with an emphasis on grape quality and vine health. Grapes include Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Meunier; the winery obtained its brewing license in August 2024.
