In Sorachi's Kurisawa district, this family opened its vineyard in 2007 and now ferments Pinot Gris and other grapes in Georgian qvevri jars.
Kurisawa Wines is a family-run vineyard growing wine grapes in a small town in Hokkaido's Sorachi subprefecture. The family first planted its vineyard in 2007 and, in 2017, established a winery jointly with Nakazawa Vineyard. It works with qvevri, the traditional unglazed clay vessels used in Georgian winemaking, to vinify grapes including Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Auxerrois and Pinot Gris.
