Since 2012, Miyamoto Vineyard has farmed a steep 3-hectare plot in Mikasa's Tappu district, growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
In spring 2012, Ryohei Miyamoto cleared a dedicated wine-grape vineyard of about 3 hectares and 8,000 vines in the Tappu district of Mikasa, Hokkaido. After training at Obuse Winery, in New Zealand, and with a winemaker in Burgundy, he planted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Through the 2020 vintage, grapes were vinified under contract at the neighboring Takizawa Winery, on a steep hillside plot.
