A Fukuoka banker turned Yoichi grower, trained under 10R Winery to grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Kerner.
YOKA WINERY's founder, Masashi Kiku, is a Fukuoka native who left banking to move to Yoichi in 2019. He trained in viticulture at Kimura Farm, then commuted to 10R Winery to learn winemaking before starting production of his own. The estate grows three varieties — Pinot Noir (1 ha), Chardonnay (0.5 ha) and Kerner (0.5 ha) — across two hectares of vines.
