Tsukuba Winery is Ibaraki's first estate winery, growing both Japanese and European grape varieties, including Fuji no Yume, Hokuten no Shizuku, Marselan, Merlot, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Albariño and Tannat, on vineyards at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba. The business began in 2011, and it opened its own brewery in 2019 as the first winery certified under the Tsukuba Wine and Fruit Wine Special Zone.
