Gomaibashi Winery was founded in 2001 in Kado, Morioka, and produces a limited run of roughly 1,000 bottles a year. Alongside an original red wine from its own vineyard, it makes Gomaibashi Apple Wine using apples sourced only from the east bank of the Kitakami River, as well as cider.
