A food-canning company built a wine works at its Iwate Town factory in 1987, launching Spur Wine the following year.
Iwate Kantin, a diversified foodstuffs manufacturer, built a wine works within its factory grounds in Iwate Town in 1987 and obtained a license to produce fruit wine. The following year, in 1988, it launched a new product called Spur Wine. The winery represents the wine division of a general food company based in Iwate Prefecture, brewing at its factory in Kawaguchi, Iwate Town.
