Born from Tono Magokoro Net's tsunami-recovery mission, this NPO winery employs disaster survivors and people with disabilities, growing 11 grape varieties on two farms.
Social Farm & Winery was founded by the NPO Tono Magokoro Net to revitalize communities affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and create jobs for disaster survivors and people with disabilities. Grape planting began in 2014, with cultivation of grapes and herbs carried out through the employment of people with disabilities, run as a social-enterprise model for regional revitalization. Eleven varieties of wine grapes are grown across two of the NPO's own farms — in the Ayaori-cho Samukaze district of Tono and in Kasshi-cho, Kamaishi.
