Minamisanriku Winery

Minamisanriku Winery grew from a wine project started in 2017 by two members of the town's regional revitalization corps, incorporated in 2019, and opened in October 2020 with a shop and kitchen looking out over the water. The town's first winery, it ferments grapes grown across Yamagata Prefecture — from Tendo, Tsuruoka, Sagae and beyond — into a food-minded range that runs from Koshu sur lie to Delaware sparkling. The shop opens most afternoons, with winery experiences on offer.
