Miyakonojo Winery, founded in 2004 in Yoshinomoto, Miyakonojo, produces a series of wines named after figures from Japanese mythology — Omoikane, Tajikarao, Amenokoyane, Tamanooya and Ishikoridome. The winery makes use of the climate at the foot of Mount Kirishima in its winemaking, working mainly with Muscat Bailey A.
