A cradle winery for grape growers in Tomi City, Arcanvigne brews purchased and contract-brewed fruit while running Japan's first private wine academy.
Arcanvigne, run by the Japan Wine Agriculture Research Institute, was founded in 2019 in Tomi City as a 'cradle winery' — a receiving point for local grape growers, buying in fruit to brew its own wines or contract-brewing on their behalf. The winery also operates Japan's first private wine school, the Chikuma River Wine Academy, and is a sibling operation of Villa d'Est Winery. Its name comes from the French arc-en-ciel, meaning rainbow.
