Grown from a steep hillside vineyard planted in the 1950s, Coco Farm & Winery has fermented 100% Japanese grapes since 1980.
Coco Farm & Winery was founded in 1980, growing out of a steep hillside vineyard first opened in the 1950s. It ferments wines from 100% Japanese grapes, relying mainly on wild yeast. The winery grew out of Kokoromi Gakuen, a school and workplace for people with disabilities, and its steep vineyard is farmed without herbicides or chemical fertilizer. Its sparkling wine has been served at international summits and by airlines.
