A Yamagata fruit winery turning cherries and pears into wine with nothing but fruit and yeast.
Fruit Winery Esprit makes fruit wines from Yamagata specialties such as cherries and Western pears, fermenting with only fruit and yeast — no reconstituted concentrate, no added sweeteners. The winery also produces grape wine, and its cherry wine has won a bronze award at the JAPAN Wine Challenge. Tours of the facility are available by advance arrangement, with free tastings on-site.
