Grown for six years by people with disabilities in a ‘noufuku’ agriculture-welfare project, Voyage de YUUAI’s 2024 debut wines carry the name of a shared journey.
Voyage de YUUAI grew out of a noufuku project — pairing agriculture with welfare — that began growing grapes six years before its winery was completed in September 2024. The wines are made entirely from grapes cultivated by people with disabilities. The name Voyage, French for ‘journey,’ expresses a wish to travel together, helping one another along the way. The winery is run by the social welfare corporation Yuuai-kai in Kaminoyama, Yamagata.
