Alps Wine has run as a small, family-owned winery in Ichinomiya, Fuefuki since 1962, under the motto ‘Small Winery, High Quality.’ Its FOX VILLAGE brand, launched for the company’s 60th anniversary, aims for clear, clean wines that keep the grape’s natural character intact and reward aging. Juice is protected from oxidation with dry ice during pressing, and the winery has shifted to Stelvin screw caps to preserve freshness while minimizing added sulfites. There is no winery tour, but the direct-sales salon in Ichinomiya — with an underground cellar — offers tastings of wine and grape juice, some free and some paid.
