Asahi Yoshu is a historic brewhouse that has operated since before World War II as a farmers' cooperative winery, under its current management since 2001. Its own vineyards grow European varieties including Pinot Noir, Syrah and Albariño, made as food-pairing wine meant for the Japanese table. Its labels feature artwork by printmaker Chizuru Amemiya.
