Chateau Mercian's Katsunuma Winery is the founding, core winery of the Chateau Mercian brand, in Katsunuma — the birthplace of Japanese wine. Its Iwamurai Vineyard grows more than 20 grape varieties, from Koshu to Merlot and Chardonnay, and the site includes a Wine Museum recognized in 2020 as a National Tangible Cultural Property marking 140 years of Japanese wine history.
