Overview

Domaine Mie Ikeno

Domaine Mie Ikeno began growing grapes in spring 2007 on hillsides along the southern foot of Mt. Yatsugatake, and the winery itself was born when its brewery was built in autumn 2011. At 750 meters elevation, the vineyard looks out over the Southern Alps and Mt. Fuji, and is known as the 'sky vineyard' for how clouds wrap the fields after rain. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot are grown here and vinified using a pump-free gravity-flow system that keeps the grapes from being jostled. The brewery building itself was architect-designed.
