Mars Hosaka Winery

Hombo Shuzo opened this winery in Nirasaki's Hosaka district in 2017, separate from its earlier Mars Yamanashi Winery in Fuefuki. At around 500 to 600 meters elevation, Hosaka's cool terroir suits Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Koshu, bottled under the well-regarded Chateau Mars label. Tours and tastings are free and open to visitors.
