The Wakao family has grown grapes in Katsunuma for 300 years, now under the MIWAKUBO wine label.
Marusan Budoushu is a family winery run by the Wakao family, whose grape-growing history in Katsunuma stretches back more than 300 years to the Edo period. The company was formally established in 1963, and today runs Wakao Orchard, an agritourism farm offering grape picking alongside direct sales. Its MIWAKUBO brand pushes into European varieties and orange wine, giving the historic house a more experimental, individual lineup.
