盛田家14代目久左衛門の次男・和昭が1973年に設立。盛田家は江戸時代中期から酒・味噌・醤油の醸造を営み、明治時代からワイン醸造も手がける。勝沼ワインバレーで有数の規模を誇り「シャンモリ」の愛称で親しまれる。
