A JA-run winery in Fuefuki's Misaka district, built on grapes grown 100% within its own valley since 1963.
Run directly by the Fuefuki agricultural cooperative, this winery traces back to 1963, when it began as the local JA's grape division. Its brand, 8 vin-yard MISAKA, takes its name from the figure eight — a number considered auspicious in Japan, and one that becomes the infinity symbol when turned on its side. All wines use grapes grown 100% in Misaka, Fuefuki, led by Koshu (Japan's indigenous white grape) and Muscat Bailey A (a Japanese-bred red).
