Named for the snow atop Mt. Fuji, this 1942 winery grows its own original red grape, Koibeni.
Sainte Neige — French for 'holy snow' — takes its name from the snow crowning Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest peak, and the winery has pursued quality worthy of that name since its founding in 1942. Grapes are grown in the Makioka district of Yamanashi city at 720-750m, including the house's own original red variety, Koibeni. As the winery puts it, good wine starts with good grapes.
