Suntory's flagship estate since 1936, where 'Tomi' Koshu became the first Japanese wine to win Decanter's Best in Show.
Opened as a vineyard in 1909, this hillside estate near the Southern Alps came under Suntory's management in 1936. At about 600 meters elevation, it grows Koshu (Japan's indigenous white grape), Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Muscat Bailey A and Syrah, committed entirely to estate-grown fruit, under the banner 'Japanese wine to move the world.'
