Founded in 1961 by 450 local farming households, this cooperative winery ages its wine in a clay-walled, timber-framed building built for a stable climate.
Yamanashi Hakko Kogyo was founded in 1961 when 450 local farming households invested to establish this cooperative winery. Its clay-walled, timber-framed building — cool in summer and warm in winter — provides an ideal, stable environment for brewing. The winery continues to make wine rooted in local production for local consumption, with brewing tours and tastings available during the fermentation season each September and October.
