Yamato Budoshu was founded in 1913 in Katsunuma and holds Japan's own native grape varieties close, aiming for wine suited to the country's climate and land. Its guiding philosophy is 'individuality, concentration, complexity, elegance,' and the winery spares no effort at any step, taking whatever time each wine needs. One label, Koryu, is made from Koshu picked from a designated cultural-property vine about 130 years old. The house's Colline Collection has won multiple honors, including at the Japan Wine Competition and Monde Selection.
