Kumamoto Wine is committed to Kumamoto-grown grapes, partnering with contract farmers across the prefecture — centered on Kikuka — to make wine that reflects local terroir. Grapes are sourced from a wide span of growing areas, including Yamaga, Ueki, Kikuchi, Mashiki, Shiranui, and Kumamoto City itself, and the resulting wines, built on Chardonnay and Merlot, have gained international recognition as 'Kumamoto Terroir.'
