Sapporo Wine Okayama Winery, in Akaiwa, is Sapporo Beer's wine production base for Japan Wine made from domestically grown grapes, including Chardonnay and Muscat Bailey A. Its Grand Polaire label took the Japan Wine Competition's top gold award in 2015, for an extra-sweet wine.
