A members-only island domaine in the Seto Inland Sea, two vignerons and a single grape: Yama Sauvignon.
On Suo-Oshima island, Domaine Pinot Livre has pursued one ideal since 2018: to be vignerons for life. Two grower-winemakers farm only their own vineyards of Yama Sauvignon — a Japanese cross of wild mountain grape and Cabernet Sauvignon — and handle every step themselves, brewing minimally and without fixed recipes. Distribution is equally uncompromising: the winery operates as a closed, members-club estate whose annual allocation was fully subscribed for 2025, though limited releases appear in its web shop and the on-site shop opens by advance reservation.
